Dr Andreas Greb

DSC_0068Andreas  carried out his general chemistry studies at the Friedrich-Wilhelms-University Bonn. In 2007 he was appointed to an Erasmus/Sokrates fellowship. He did a research stay in the group of Prof. Trond Ulven at the University of Southern Denmark, Odense, where he discovered his interest in the field of organic synthesis. Andreas graduated from the Institute of Organic- and Biochemistry by working on the formal total synthesis of (±)‑fragranol supervised by Prof. Andreas Gansäuer.

In 2009, he joined the research group of Prof. Dieter Enders at RWTH Aachen University and completed his PhD in organic chemistry in the field of organocatalytic asymmetric cascade reactions.

Later he moved the northern part of the Netherlands where he was working for a Custom Research Organisation, Syncom. After a short stay at the CAT Catalytic Center in Aachen he came to Cambridge and in January 2016, Andreas was appointed to a Pfizer-funded postdoctoral position in the Ley group where he is working within the Open Innovation Programme. His work is focussed on the discovery of new avenues for chemical methods in batch and continuous flow.
