In 2012 Davir González obtained his Master degree in Organic Synthesis at the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México (UAEM-Mexico) under the supervision of Prof. Carlos González-Romero working in the development of novel synthetic methodologies to carry out the cleavage of silyl ethers (see publications list below). At this stage (2010), he was appointed to a CONACyT fellowship to carry out a research project (Synthesis of L-Octaarginine through microencapsulated palladium-catalyzed allyl ester deprotection – see publications list below) at the University of Granada (Spain) under the supervision of Prof. Juan A. Tamayo-Torres and Prof. José Gómez-Vidal. In 2014, González started his PhD at the UAEM (under the supervision of Prof. Carlos González and Aydeé Fuentes) where his major efforts have been orientated towards the development of novel strategies to allow the obtaining of 1,2,3-triazole cores through azide-enolate (3+2) cycloadditions as well as its application in the synthesis of novel antifungal compounds (see publications list below). So far, he has published 14 articles (11 of these as first author).
In 2016, González was appointed to a CONACyT/SIEA-UAEM/COMECyT fellowship for a short stay (10/2016-03/2017) at the University of Cambridge to complete his doctoral thesis under the mentorship of Steve Ley on the discovery of new chemical reactivity of diazo intermediates and subsequent use as carbine precursor.
